Silicon Carbide Tube

Silicon Carbide Tube

Silicon carbide tube is ideal for use in chemical production processes that involve prolonged contact with corrosive substances, such as concentrated sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric and chloride solutions. It can significantly reduce the risk of pitting corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and metal ion contamination, which may otherwise compromise your equipment’s performance and longevity and ultimately impact your process output.

Unlike stainless steel and other metal heat exchange materials, our sic tubes are extremely resistant to thermal shock and can withstand the frequent and instantaneous thermal cycling often encountered in industrial reactors. This is because silicon carbide has a lower coefficient of expansion and much higher thermal conductivity than stainless steel.

With a high thermal resistance, our sic tube is also highly resistant to harsh chemicals and can be cleaned with strong acid and alkali cleaning agents without damage or deterioration of the tube wall, saving you valuable maintenance time and money. The extremely tough and durable nature of silicon carbide also allows it to withstand high pressures, and our unique internal design ensures that there are no potential leak paths, even in the event of damage.

In addition, our silicon carbide tubes have a superior surface finish, excellent bending strength, and superior corrosion resistance and chemical inertness. We also offer a range of tube sizes to suit all common shell side and tube sheet diameters, including high-pressure applications. Our unique manufacturing process includes a comprehensive quality control system that uses 100% automated online laser monitoring of the reaction tube, to verify straightness 1.2% and consistent tube wall thickness, as well as precise tolerances for outer diameter and roundness – ensuring perfect matching with standard tube sheet bores and graphite/fluororubber seals.
